Hi - I'm Erin Louise Harrison!

I am a 🇰🇪 🇬🇾 🇬🇧 🏳️‍🌈 designer and writer, currently working remotely in Guildford as a Designer at Cardboard Sword - previously I was a Level Designer at Media Molecule on Dreams and an upcoming project.

I feel fortunate to have been working professionally for 3.5 years in the games industry, across both indie and AAA, with a niche for quickly learning and building in game creation systems like Dreams, and NDA'd others. Planning and prototyping tools on rotation are Miro (which I love 📈), Confluence, Unreal Engine, Maya, and G Suite.

My game development skills lie in:
➖ level design: 2D and 3D prototyping, creating fun, explorative blockouts, set dressing
➖ game design: feature planning, documentation, game balancing, visual scripting
➖ narrative design: story, world and narrative proposals, flowcharts, game writing
➖ presentations: creating pitch decks, clear brainstorms, comfortably talking to large groups

I'm passionate about working class and low income accessibility into the games industry. On this subject, I've penned a video essay and spoken at events and studios to raise awareness. Currently I'm writing 'The Pocket Mentor for Level Designers' for CRC Press, a guide chronicling how to get into the industry, from first interest in high school to the first year in the job.
